Patch that resolves a problem with access to the FSG with Windows Vista or Windows 7

• If you try to map to a network share in Windows Vista (\\FSGname\sharename), maybe you get a dialogue box that asks for a user name and password.

Then, if you enter credentials only get a message telling that user name and/or password is incorrect.

• Solution: This patch for Vista solves this.
• Note: This patch also tested and confirmed working on Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.

Some old comments - Beta 2 and FSG file sharing

There is a problem with Samba (the implementation of Windows file sharing on the FSG) and the windows file sharing of Vista after beta 2. A newer samba version is out, but it will be some time until Freecom implements it. (Now is 4-10-2006) A workaround can be found in this post.

We have implemented Version 3.0.23d of Samba in the 4.0.2 firmware which should solve these problems. Beta release expected January 2007. Kind regards, --Rbar 11:50, 21 December 2006 (CET)
