Well there is a new torrentflux-b4rt for the FSG but i have to say that now it's in rapidshare until the file is post in the wiki, you can go to this topic http://www.openfsg.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4703 and try the new torrentflux with less bugs (no white page) and a more easy installation

Installation steps

  1. First download the Torretflux package (link). You can optionally download the transmission-cli package (link), compiled fot the fsg (note that the name in the fsg has to be only Transmissioncli). You can also use the clients (mainline, transmision) that come with torrentflux but they are larger.
  2. Uncompress it
  3. Put the directory html (and alls of his subdirectories )in the apache
  4. Go to the directory you have put in the apache, now go to subdirectory /inc/config/. You have to see a file config.db.php.dist. Copy that to config.db.php. With your configuration of the db if you use mysql only do: cp config.db.php.dist confib.db.php
  5. Go where you uncompress the package
  6. directory /sql/mysql (i'm using mysql)
  7. mysqladmin create torrentflux -u user -p (i use my admin of mysql)
  8. mysql torrentflux < mysql_torrentflux-b4rt-1.0.sql -u user -p (i use my admin of mysql)
  9. (i don't remember if we have to create the user for my sql torrentflux:seceret, i think that it isn't necessary...)
  10. go to the apache, if you see the login continue, if something fails (stops here), the first user you put will be the admin of the torrentflux, you will later create more users, admins...
  11. go to the settings page, you will see many options in red, put in green doing a ipkg install: the ipkg install most of the things in /opt and not in /usr. Details:
    • awk it's not in the ipkg you can get gawk
    • netstat i don't remember where i download net-tools or busybox, sorry (my brother uses net-tools and seems to work)
    • ckfsv it isn't in the repositories you can use this feature....(no for now i don't think i need to compile it) (It is BUSYBOX --- RattyDAVE 14:06, 20 September 2006 (CEST))
  12. Optionally, put the bin of the transmision cli where do you like, but remember to give him appropriate righths chmod +x (and please rename it to only transmisioncli without the extension). I recommend to put it in the directory where the torrentflux says.

Known Bugs

I don't know why, my brother have used phpadmin to configure the mysql and have no problem

Zippa tells me that until he have created a user torrentflux and pass seceret to mysql, the torrentflux don't work..., i think this pass is inecessary now (i have done it because i was doing tests...), if mysql don't work try to create a user for mysql torrentflux:seceret

When i put 2 or 3 torrents at the same time, when i try to access to the page of torrentflux i only see a white page, i think this is a problem about the "reset" of my connection..., now the cpu have more usage, and don't respond to the replys like before.... need help to solve it

About fluxd (the queue manager)

Fluxd uses perl with DBI and DBD::mysql or DBD::SQLite and you need to compile perl to work with this modules. Good news, i have DBI compiled and it works; bad news: DBD::mysql fails to a libz that i don't have in the fsg.... and DBD::DQLite fails in the tests and i don't want to force it to install. My solution? I will wait to the new kernel 2.6 and after that i think i will continue to investigate.

If anybody have any idea, talk in the forum

Notes

Detalle yo estoy en espaƱa aqui tenemos las SGAE, y no esta como la RIAA americana, pero me pasaron esta nota y la encuentro interesante)(Ademas yo por lo que me bajo no tengo problemas

Please note that IP blocking (Peerguardian, Protowall) is currently not possible with the FSG and sharing copyrighted information through a bittorrent client is illegal. As soon as you download, you also upload and your IP address can be captured and added to the RIAA/MPAA lists. If you have no idea what IP blocking is all about and you use p2p (bittorrent, emule, edonkey, kazaa, etc.) regularly, get some protection first! read more here zdDog
