Intro
- FSG-3 has no WLAN.
- Freecom Storage Gateway WLAN has WLAN capacities.
- You can "upgrade" one to another.
- One way is send it to Freecom SAT.
- Other is to ask for a "kit", and upgrade yourself.

- Also, you can see the 'the heart of the beast', without opening it and losing your warranty.
Steps
- First of all, you have to order a compatible WiFi-MiniPCI-Card. See Compatible_Cards.
- When you get it, you can install.
- This tutorial shows you its installation photos.
Compatible Cards
- The following hardware has been tested:
- ICOM ABILITY 1300A WIFI CARD AW-GM100 -> successfully tested
- AzureWave AW-GM100 802.11b/g miniPCI -> successfully tested
- In the past, you was able to contact your local Freecom support office and order a “ wireless kit”. By now, it may no longer be possible. It seems to be out of stock.
- The original FSG card had this specs:
